Park Staff Zone

A place to chill after your Shift

Ken Jones

My Name is Ken Jones I have been working in the Industry for 4 years now. I grew up at Conneaut Lake Park riding rides and eating the food. I got my first job at the park at 15 my first ride was the Tubs of Fun and the Jolly Cattipillar. The week before we opened for the 2006 season I volunteered at the park helping anyway I could because money is tight at the park and they can affored much help off season. We opened that season I was In kiddieland. I worked all the rides in there and spend many hours running the Little Dipper (Kiddie coaster). On July 2nd I finally got pulled out of Kiddieland because they were short handed in the Adult Rides. My first position was unloading on the Devil's Den (Dark Ride) I spend the afternoon the same day on the Tilt A Whirl. I eventually worked my way around the park during the season till I finally got to run the Blue Streak (Wood Coaster). It was the time of my life. The following year the park did not open due to financal diffaculties. I still volunteered at the park to help see that it was safe for later years. I helped with Grounds, Security, and Maintmence. I got hired in September for the Constrution Crew for Ghost Lake and was one of the House Leaders during the Event I was with Clown Town and really had that place rocking. I miss it. All the friends I made at those jobs and the experience. This summer I plan on working at Cedar Point and hope to develope a career there.

I made Park Staff Zone for the purpous of keeping the memories alive. We do something that thousands of people have done before us. We are the Next Generation of Park Employees and hold the Tradition. Hope you enjoy the site and hpe you have fun. Thank You!

Hi, my name is Jeremy Beczkala, you know me as EagleMan76 on the site.  I have been in the industry since 2007, so 2009 will be my third year.  I work at Six Flags St. Louis, one of the only 3 Six Flags parks built from the ground up.  In 2007 I worked in what is now Area 3.  I ran the Log Flume, Moon Cars, and Scooby Doo.   In 2008 I really got going.  I ended up trained at almost every ride in Area 2, that largest are of SFSTL.  My rides were Tidal Wave, Screamin' Eagle, Chicago Flats, Bugs Bunny flats North and East, and the Mine Train.  We were severely short-staffed that season, and I ended up working from 5 to 7 double shifts in a week for around 52 hours each week.  It was all good though.  I brought in Kool-Aid for my crew every day, and that kept us all going.  Many nights after closing and cleaning Tidal Wave (which always closes 1 hour early btw) I would head up to Eagle to finish out the day.  That was the highlight of the job: getting the station roaring with chanting guests while my crew and I got them all going.  I hope to get a night Lead position up there for 2009 so I can train my own crew and have the most energetic station in the park.

Even though it may not seem like it, us Six Flags people do have a life, sometimes.  Almost every night after work we would all go and hit the fine Eureka restaraunts: Applebee's, Denny's, Poor Richard's, Steak N' Shake, China King, Taco Bell, and McDonald's.  Sometimes different groups would be at different places and a couple times we ended up going to 3 different places.  That's the Six Flags employee culture for ya, lol.

I got involved in the ParkStaffZone project awhile back when Ken jones first made it and enlisted my help.  Now I am the second administrator of the main site and the forums.  We hope to soon have a booming theme park employee community where all park employees go to chill after their shift, share stories, and do just about anything else.

All that said, we welcome you all to ParkStaffZone so remain seated facing forward, and enjoy your stay at the ParkStaffZone!
